Happy Endings
In spite of age and seemingly insurmountable odds we found one another.
This is really a late report but one we want to share. We both are of a "certain age" and both had lost our spouses of forty+ years. We happened to live within thirty minutes drive of one another but had never met although we discovered that we had a number of friends in common. We corresponded in 1993, became involved a few months later and married in 1996. As far as we are concerned it is a perfect marriage where we find that we are as perfectly matched as we could imagine. The thing which we find so incredible is that we both have strong personalities and preferences and believed that it would be very difficult to find someone who would put up with us! We also insisted that our intended mate get along with our children and families. In spite of age and seemingly insurmountable odds we found one another, fell in love and are more happy and content than we could have ever imagined. Our advice to all is to take a few risks because the rewards can be remarkable. Thank you, Concerned Singles!

One of the most interesting and exciting discoveries I've made in reviewing our happy ending stories is that significantly more than half of those relationships were forged between people who were not living in the same state - sometimes not even the same country! - when they began corresponding. Clearly, geographical distances are much more easily bridged than philosophical ones.
This message I recently received is a perfect case in point:
One of us had been looking for years (several times as a member of Concerned Singles) and had pretty much given up; the other had been looking for one week. We found each other across 2000 miles but, even living in the same town, would probably have never met in the usual ways. Six months after our first phone call, we bridged the geographical gap permanently, and six months later, we got married. Needless to say, Concerned Singles has changed our lives forever.
