How can I improve my chances of hearing back from someone I write?
A good rule of thumb is to write the kind of letter you'd like to receive yourself. Would you really be motivated to respond to a message that said only, "Hi, want to write to me?"
Here's one member's suggestion: "The whole purpose of the profile is to inspire a response that hopefully offers more than the profile - otherwise I would have noticed the profile and written a letter myself. When making the first contact, talk about what piqued your interest in the target profile, tell some more about yourself (in addition to pasting in your profile), show a little personality."

Can I join without using a credit card?
Yes. There are three ways you can join without using a credit card.
1. Download and complete the pdf of our application form and mail it, along with your check or money order, to Concerned Singles, Box 444, Lenox Dale, MA 01242.
2. Submit your application online, typing "payment to come by mail" in the credit card field (and don't forget to mail us your check!).
3. Call or email us for a hardcopy form, which you'll complete and return by mail with your payment.
