How can I improve my chances of hearing back from someone I write?
A good rule of thumb is to write the kind of letter you'd like to receive yourself. Would you really be motivated to respond to a message that said only, "Hi, want to write to me?"
Here's one member's suggestion: "The whole purpose of the profile is to inspire a response that hopefully offers more than the profile - otherwise I would have noticed the profile and written a letter myself. When making the first contact, talk about what piqued your interest in the target profile, tell some more about yourself (in addition to pasting in your profile), show a little personality."

How does postal forwarding work?
Postal forwarding is just $1 each. (Please be sure to enclose the forwarding fee with your letter; your email forwarding account is reserved for email forwarding only.)
Write your letter, place it in an envelope, and seal and stamp the envelope. Remember to use the correct amount of postage.
Write the recipient's complete code number, including state and city, in the middle of the envelope, where you would normally write the recipient's name and address.
Do not write your return address on the outside of this envelope; instead, write your code number in the upper left corner. (Remember, since your return address will not be on the outside of the envelope we are forwarding for you, make sure that the recipient has enough information to respond to you directly. Inside your letter, give one or more of the following, as you prefer: your name, address, phone / fax number or email address.)
Enclose your letter(s), along with $1 fee for each letter to be forwarded, in another envelope.
In the upper left corner of this outer envelope, write your name, address, and membership code, and mail it to Concerned Singles, Box 444, Lenox Dale, MA 01242.
IMPORTANT: The notation "Email Only" means just that: we cannot forward snail mail to that member. Before you send us a letter to forward, please double-check the contact notation on the listing.
